Terms and conditions

Last updated 24 August 2026.

This page says who we are, what you are buying, what it costs, when it should arrive, and what happens if you change your mind or something is wrong with your bag. It is written to be read rather than skipped. If any of it is unclear, email us and we will explain it in plain words.

Who we are

Pastiche Bags Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13367483.

Registered office: 15 Amherst Place, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 3BT.

Email: orders@pastichebags.co.uk. Email is the quickest way to reach us and it goes to a person, not a queue.

What these terms cover

These terms apply to everything bought from pastichebags.co.uk. Two other pages form part of the same agreement: Orders and returns, which sets out delivery and returns in more detail, and our Privacy policy. Where the returns page simply goes into more detail, follow the detail; if the two ever disagree, this page governs.

Placing an order means you accept these terms. You are buying as a consumer, for yourself or as a gift, and nothing written here takes away the rights UK law gives you.

What we sell, and what it is not

We sell bags. They were designed by Ang during her own cancer treatment, for people going through the same thing, and each one has a pocket inside for a message.

A Pastiche bag is a bag. It carries things, and it carries a message, and that is the whole of what we claim for it. It is not medical equipment, it makes no difference to any medical outcome, and nothing on this site is medical advice. If you are in treatment, your team at the hospital is the place for medical questions.

We give £10 from every bag sold to Cancer Research UK. That comes out of the price you pay — it is not an extra charge added at the checkout, and it does not make us a charity. Pastiche Bags Ltd is an ordinary limited company.

Placing an order

  1. You choose a bag, choose the message for the pocket, and pay at the checkout.
  2. You get an email straight away confirming what you ordered. That email is the moment the contract between us is made.
  3. If we cannot fulfil the order — the bag has run out, the price on the site was wrong, or the message is one we are not willing to print — we will email you, cancel it and refund you in full. No contract is made and you keep your money.

The message

You can pick one of our written messages or write your own, up to 160 characters. We print what you type. We do not correct spelling, punctuation or names, so read it back before you order — a name spelled the way that person spells it matters more than anything else on the card.

We will not print anything abusive, or anything that names or exposes someone who has not agreed to it. If we are not willing to print what you have written we will email you and refund the order rather than change your words ourselves.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown on each product page in pounds sterling — £150 for a CJ Bag, £195 for a B Bag. The price on the page is the price of the bag. Delivery, if it applies, is shown in your basket before you pay and again on your confirmation email. Nothing is added after you click the button.

We take payment by card at the checkout. Your card details go to our payment provider, Stripe, who handle the payment for us. We never see or store your card number.

You can also pay with Klarna. Klarna is a separate company with its own terms, and they will show you those terms before you agree to anything.

Prices can change, but never on an order already placed. If a price on the site is obviously wrong — a bag listed at £15 rather than £150 — we are not obliged to sell at it. We will email you, tell you the real price, and refund you in full if you would rather not go ahead.

Delivery

UK orders go by Royal Mail and normally arrive within 5–7 working days of your confirmation email, not counting weekends and public holidays. Orders to the EU and the rest of the world should arrive within 14 days. We will email you when your bag is on its way.

What delivery costs, if anything, is shown in your basket before you pay.

If anything is going to take longer than the times above, we will email and tell you rather than leave you wondering. If your parcel is late, email orders@pastichebags.co.uk and we will find out where it is.

Parcels going outside the UK can attract import duty or local tax when they arrive in that country. That is charged by that country, not by us, and it is for the person receiving the parcel to pay. We cannot tell you in advance what it will be.

Until the bag is physically in your hands it is our responsibility. If it is lost or damaged on the way, that is ours to put right — not yours to chase Royal Mail about.

Changing your mind

UK law calls this the right to cancel, and it works differently depending on whether your bag has a message in it. The full version, with what to do, is on Orders and returns. The short version is here.

If you chose “No Message”

Nothing is printed and the pocket goes out empty, so it is a standard stock item and the full 14-day right to cancel applies. You have 14 days from the day the bag arrives to tell us you have changed your mind, and 14 days after that to get it back to us.

Email orders@pastichebags.co.uk and we will send you the return address. The bag needs to come back unused, in its dust bag and box. Return postage is yours to pay and we would ask you to send it tracked — until it reaches us, it is your parcel. Once it is here we will refund what you paid, including any standard delivery charge, within 14 days.

You can unpack it and look at it the way you would in a shop. If it comes back used, we may reduce the refund to reflect that.

If you chose a message

A bag with a message in it was made for one person and we cannot sell it to anyone else, so the 14-day right to change your mind does not apply to it. That is the exception UK law makes for goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, and it is why the message is worth a moment’s thought before you order.

If you change your mind quickly, email us anyway. If your bag has not been packed yet we will cancel it and refund you in full, whatever the message says.

How to tell us

An email to orders@pastichebags.co.uk saying so is enough, and we will always reply to confirm we have it. You can use this wording if it helps:

I cancel my contract for the sale of the following goods: [what you ordered]. Ordered on [date], received on [date]. [Your name]. [Your address]. [Today’s date].

Or write to us at Pastiche Bags Ltd, 15 Amherst Place, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 3BT.

If something is wrong with your bag

This applies to every bag, message or no message, and nothing above changes it.

Email orders@pastichebags.co.uk with a photo of the fault. Tell us within 30 days of it arriving and you can have your money back, a replacement or a repair — your choice, not ours. After 30 days, and for the first six months, we will repair or replace it.

Fair wear and tear is not a manufacturing fault. Leather and cotton both change with use, and that is the material doing what it does. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by anything on this page.

If you need to complain

Email orders@pastichebags.co.uk and put “Complaint” in the subject line. It goes to Ang. We answer every email ourselves — usually the same day, and always within five working days.

If we cannot sort it out between us, free and independent advice is available from the Citizens Advice consumer service at citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer or on 0808 223 1133. We do not belong to an alternative dispute resolution scheme, so if you are still not satisfied the next step is the courts.

What we are responsible for

If we break these terms we are responsible for loss you suffer as a foreseeable result of it. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when you ordered.

We do not limit our responsibility in any way the law does not allow — for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your rights over goods that are not as described, not of satisfactory quality or not fit for purpose.

One thing worth saying plainly, because of what these bags are for. We know most orders are meant to arrive by a particular day. Tell us the date and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done, and we will do everything we can to make it. But once a parcel is with Royal Mail we do not control the day it lands. If it is late and misses the occasion, we will refund the delivery charge if you paid one and put right anything wrong with the bag itself.

Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page on the day you order. If we change them, the change applies to orders placed afterwards, never to one already made. The date at the top says when this page last changed.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A claim can be brought in the courts of England and Wales, and if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of your own country.
